Jocko Willink's Daily Routine
  • Morning Routine - 4:30am

Jocko Willink's day begins incredibly early, usually around 4:30 am, with the first thing on his to-do list being a quick workout. Jocko has mentioned his workout routine changes often, but some common things he may incorporate are weight-lifting, cardio, or even Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

After that, Jocko meditates for 10-20 minutes before heading out for a run, typically about 5-6 miles long. He's mentioned using his daily run to clear his mind, plan his day, and mentally prepare for potential stressors.

  • Afternoon Routine - 12:00pm

Around noon, Jocko takes a break for lunch, which he says is typically a light meal with few carbs. Jocko is a big believer in the benefits of intermittent fasting, so sometimes he'll skip lunch altogether.

After lunch, Jocko reviews his schedule and prioritizes his tasks for the rest of the day. If he has any phone calls to make, he does them during this time.

  • Evening Routine - 4:30pm

Jocko finishes his workday at around 4:30 pm and reserves the evenings for spending time with family, practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and continuing to learn and grow. He's an avid reader and often shares what he's been reading on his social media accounts. Some of his recommended books include "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu and "Extreme Ownership", which he co-wrote with another former SEAL Leif Babin.

Before bed, Jocko takes some supplements including protein, magnesium, and vitamin D, which he says help him stay focused and energized throughout the day.
