Dwayne Johnson's Daily Routine
  • Morning Routine - 3:30am

Johnson's daily routine starts at 3:30 am. He is one of the lucky few who can function and feel restored on as little as three to five hours of sleep, even after a heavy day in the gym or film studio.

He starts with a light cardio workout, often going for a run. If it's raining outside, he'll use the elliptical machine at home while sipping on coffee and catching up on the news.

He prefers light-intensity cardio to high-intensity training in the morning, as he finds that a morning cardio session anchors him for the rest of the day. If he knows he'll be busy all day, he'll lift weights in the morning instead of doing cardio.

After his workout, he has his first of five to seven meals, totalling 3,000 calories. The meals are prepared the day before to ensure he has the right amount of nutrition on hand to fuel his training and work. Portions are all measured to hit his macros.

Breakfast usually consists of steak or oatmeal, depending on his training goals. Other staples in his diet include chicken, eggs, broccoli, rice, halibut, baked potatoes, asparagus, onions, mushrooms, and leafy vegetables.

He relies on natural protein sources but also uses a casein protein shake to enhance his workout recovery.

  • Afternoon Routine - 12:00pm

Johnson's life is incredibly busy. In addition to family and work responsibilities, he's involved with numerous other events and organizations that demand his time. He and his wife founded "Seven Bucks Productions" in 2012, using the last of his bank account funds at the time.

Typically, he spends two to three hours each afternoon working out, between his work responsibilities. If he's working on-location, his portable gym, the "Iron Paradise," goes with him, regardless of where in the world he may be.

Dwayne's work ethic is legendary, but so are his cheat days, which he shares with his followers on Instagram. His cheat day menus can range from burgers and fries to ice cream and pancakes. Some of his cheat meals contain as much as 5,000 to 6,000 calories.

  • Evening Routine - 5:00pm

After finishing his workout, he prepares for his evening work or entertainment responsibilities.

If he has no plans, he relaxes at home and answers emails on his laptop until late into the evening.

He typically doesn't start feeling tired until around 11 pm and usually goes to sleep between 10 pm to midnight, depending on the demands of the day.

A few short hours later, he's back at it again.
